Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa 5 stars

Family friendly

We recently stayed at Sofitel Fiji with our family of 4 for 3 nights. We stayed in a room with 2 double beds (kids were aged 13 and 10) and the rooms were large enough to accommodate us. The staff were all very friendly and the accommodation was clean and tidy. The pool area was also extremely nice and not too busy, which is always great for resort-type hotels. The buffet dining area had an exceptional selection of food and the quality was very good, but was quite hot and stuffy mainly as the doors were kept open for some tables outside. So dined at Madame So (an in house Vietnamese restaurant) for 2 nights and it was air conditioned and the food there was amazing. We would recommend this hotel for a family.

We had a fantastic stay at the Sofitel. Our number one thanks must go to Tina and the team at Kids Club. Our little boy is autistic and lives with intellectual disability, but Tina with the assistance of Terry, Millie and the team, welcomed him and cared for him so respectfully. I had spoken to Rafa before arriving, and it was clear he had informed the team of our son’s needs. Tina listened to all of our concerns and assured us that he was in good hands - and he was! It was wonderful to hear the staff all around the resort calling his name with excitement as he explored his surroundings each day. Some kind children in the pool referred to him as “Tina’s Bodyguard.” Our little boy asked for Tina and Kids Club each day, which allowed us to enjoy some of the facilities and activities around the resort. The Seafood Buffet and Fijian Buffet were exceptional, as were our daily breakfasts. Great food, friendly faces, soulful singing and attentive service. Solis at sunset was noteworthy, and lunch here with Kini was memorable. We appreciated his attentive service, smiling face and warm demeanour. Seta and the team at Madame So provided us with an enjoyable evening. The bug infused lobster was a highlight! We enjoyed listening to the live music on the beach while sipping cocktails in front of Suka Bar in the evenings. The pool was enormous and relaxing. We caught the Bula Bus to some other resorts to look around and the Sofitel was superior by far. The pool had varying depths to cater for all. It was Australian school holidays and the resort was near capacity, but never felt loud or overcrowded. We rarely left the resort, as it provided everything we required. A great variety of restaurants, fantastic facilities and a plethora of activities for kids and adults. The Nadi town tour, rum tasting and spa services were terrific. The JetSkis and kayaks were also fun! The room was modern, clean and a comfortable temperature. Housekeeping was most attentive and the nightly turn down service was appreciated. Visit Sleep by Sofitel to choose your pillows for the room-very luxurious! Lovely place to stay with a family. Lovely family rooms where kids have their own space. Rooms are nicely decorated. Kids club is great. Pool is great with different areas to suit different tastes - shallow area for toddlers all the way up to 2.6m depth in another area of the pool. Lots of places to sit and good poolside service. There is also a waterslide. Lots of activities on offer throughout the day. The staff here are lovely and it is a very family friendly place. It’s also a lovely place for couples and if you want to be away from children you can go to Waitui which is just for adults. It also has a lovely pool and is a bit quieter than the main pool. Been here 3 times and keep going back because it’s such a nice place. It’s walking distance from Port Denerau.

Our stay at the Sofitel, lt was made more comfortable with a homely feeling having Vilimaina.L on our floor to take care of all our wants and needs ensuring we had everything we needed during our stay. This lady is a credit to her company and the company she works for is very to lucky have her on the front line with their guests at the Sofitel hotel. Thank you so much for everything.

Hotel looks amazing on arrival. It is extremely busy and loud near the pool. The beach was very muddy and not sandy when you go in the water and lots of coral. The staff did not seem very friendly. Our room was changed without any communication. We had booked a premium room with 2 queen beds and we were put into a room where a queen bed was being separated into 2 single beds in the adults only area. After we complained, we returned from our tour and all our belongings had been moved into the room we had booked. Porters were great, really helpful. Tour desk helped with our tour but were quite rude. In fact most staff we encountered were rude. Restaurant staff we had two friendly wait staff but the rest were not nice at all. We booked for dinner and when we arrived for dinner there was no booking. There was night entertainment on the beach that was awesome but we missed half of it as we knew nothing about it and had to leave the restaurant to see it.
